Live, Give, & Go 2017

Every November our church family rallies around the "Live, Give, & Go" campaign to bless people in our community and around the world.
Here are four ways you and your family can give back this holiday season:

Operation Christmas Child

Give the gift of hope -- and maybe some toys -- to children in need around the world. Pack a shoebox full of gifts, school supplies, hygene products, and more, and Samaritan's Purse will deliver them to children who may not otherwise receive a gift this Christmas. Bring your boxes back to the First MB lobby November 13 - 20. Learn more and get the official packing list here.

Turkey Dinners

Every year we try to bless the community of Oaklawn by providing turkey dinners to families in need. Stop by the Connect Table in November to learn how you can help distribute the dinners, or purchase one for $25. Learn more, donate, or sign up to help here.

Giving Tree

Choose a star from the tree in the First MB lobby and bring back the requested item to support our local impact partners. This year in addition to shopping for items, you can also give online to support ministry efforts. To give toward our Downtown Breakfasts, The Urban Ministry Institute, or Episocopal Migration Ministries, click here and select the ministry from the drop down menu.

Big Offering

Every year we give away 100% of one of our Sunday morning offerings. Give online here (and select Thanksgiving Offering from the dropdown menu). This year our offering on November 19 will go to:

  • Refugee Resettlement. World Impact and Episcopal Migration Ministries are doing great work with immigrants getting re-settled in Wichita, and we want to support them.
  • Lighthouse Community Church. We love working with our sister church in south Wichita who ministers to lower income families in Oaklawn.
  • Paul & Sara Raugust. This First MB family is involved in peace-making efforts in the Middle East through MB Mission.
  • Travis Jost. Travis attended and served at First MB for many years before joining MB Mission. He is currently in training and awaiting his next assignment.
