Dinner Theater & Silent Auction
Friday & Saturday, February 1 & 2 | 6:00 p.m. (Doors open at 5:00 p.m) | At First MB Church | Free to Attend
Our denomination holds a national youth convention every four years, and it's coming up! In April 2019, hundreds of high school students from M.B. churches all over the country with gather together in Glorieta, New Mexico for YouthCon 2019! It's five days of high-energy and challenging main sessions, opportunities to learn and live out our gifts to make an impact in our communities back home, and lots of fun activities to bond with other students. This experience is built to help students connect with God and discover what they have been created to do. Mentors, parents, teachers, and students at First MB Church are excited to see what God will do through an event like this! We estimate that 75 high school students from First MB will travel to New Mexico. For each student, this is a once-in-a-high-school-career opportunity, but the cost is high, at $650 per person.
Students and families have been participating in various fundraisers over this past year, but our biggest (and definitely most fun) fundraiser is coming up soon... and YOU are invited! Our Dinner Theater and Silent Auction will be held Feb. 1 & 2. The night is built around an original comedy, " ))) and promises to be an entertaining (and hilarious) evening. All the proceeds from each night will go to the students to help them get to YouthCon 2019. This is a ticketed event, so reserve your tickets at the Connect Table on Sunday mornings (or email us). The event is free but the ticket confirms your seat because space is limited!
I Want to Donate Something for the Auction, How Do I Do That?
We are looking for businesses and individuals to donate or sponsor an item/experience for people to bid on! Each item will showcase the business or sponsor as well as any other promotional material the sponsor would like. All donations are tax deductible and a receipt will be delivered when your donation is received. If you would like to help be a sponsor please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. And thank you in advance for your donation! CLICK HERE for our donation letter (for more details)
It's Free to Attend, but Why Do I Still Need a Ticket?!
It's free to attend, however, space is limited and we want accurate numbers for the meal. You can attend both nights if you would like (since there are separate auction items)! There are different colored tickets for each night. And you can get your tickets at the Connect Table on Sunday mornings OR emailing us at email@example.com to reserve your spots.

What is the Comedy About?
How to Fail in Show Business (Without even trying)
Alvin has graduated and he has a plan...unfortunately it is not the same plan as his parents. Alvin is working through the summer and then heading off to NY where undoubtedly ALL of his dreams of fame and fortune will come true. That's what happens nowadays, right?....Right????...
This original Comedy will be written, directed, and performed by the student ministry of First MB Church. We are very excited to showcase our passion and talent with this comedy!
What Is The Meal?
It will be a delicious baked potato bar with all the fixings. We will then have some scrumptious 4 layer cake for dessert. We do have vegan and gluten-free options available by request.
What Should I Wear or Bring?
This night is for anyone so the dress is informal. Come as you are!

Yes! This event is open to everyone and we have childcare available (5th grade and under).
