Family Promise helps low-income families achieve lasting independence. They help families accomplish this by providing shelter, meals, and support services for homeless families and through programs designed to address the underlying causes of homelessness. Churches throughout Wichita host the families, one week at a time, four times a year.

There are a number of ways to help out during our week to host. Read more below to find out what we need help with!
BEFORE YOU VOLUNTEER, there are a few things that need to happen frist. Please complete these steps:
- Fill out the Volunteer Interest Form.
- You must be trained by Family Promise
Upcoming Volunteer Trainings:
Monday, June 3, 6:30 p.m. First United Methodist Church, 330 N. Broadway. Please enter at the C-D Entrance and take the stairs or elevator to the Youth Center on the second floor. Volunteers from any congregation are welcome to attend, but please have them register in advance by emailing Stacia at email@example.com

Set up: Help First MB get our rooms ready and welcoming for our Family Promise guests.
Tear Down: Restore classrooms in preparation for Sunday Morning Kids' Worship.
Laundry: Take the bedding home to launder and return for our next hosting week.
Do you enjoy cooking? Join the meal prep team and prepare meals for our guests! Meals can be prepared ahead of time and dropped off, or you're welcome to come to First MB to cook the meal on-site!
|Dinner Evening Hosts
Each night of the week, while hosting, we will provide dinner for our Family Promise guests. Prepare and/or enjoy dinner and hanging out and assisting families as needed in the evening.
Stay at the church throughout the evening and through the night. There is a "host bedroom" that will be allocated for sleeping. You will help wake the guest, set out breakfast items, and help them stay on schedule.
Transport guests to and from the Day Center. You can choose between a variety of shifts. All drivers must be 25, have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record, and pass a background check.
