Spend Time With God

... because we grow deeper on purpose.

Reading the Bible can be (very) hard. Prayer doesn't come naturally to many of us. It's difficult to maintain a relationship with a God you can't see.

We understand, and we agree! Having a meaningful relationship with God does require effort and intentionality--but so does every other relationship. Every marriage and every friendship requires a give-and-take to stay healthy.

Here's the good news: Unlike other relationships, God is completely trustworthy. His love is unconditional. His words in our Bible tell us He is faithful and true. He is knowable and findable. If you spend time getting to know Him, your life will never be the same.

A great way to get started or jump-start your faith is to spend time reading the Bible. If you could use some help or are unsure where to start, here are some tips. We also offer an online Bible reading plan that our church goes through together. Learn more about our YouVersion plans here.

If reading the Bible isn't currently part of your routine, try committing 15 minutes every day. Get up a little earlier, stay up a little later, or carve out some time over lunch. Read a short passage, read it slowly, and ask God to speak to you.

When you develop habits that help you hear God's voice, your life has direction. Making an effort to study, learn, and boldly take steps of faith leads to peace and a growing sense of purpose.

This kind of life requires work, but it's worth it.
