Plan Your Visit
GETTING TO KNOW EACH OTHER
We know walking into a church for the first time can be very intimidating. We want to help make your visit to First MB a great one, so here is some info that may be helpful to you.
First of all, we know our name is kind of confusing. The MB in our name is an abbreviation for Mennonite Brethren. Rest assured; if you visit us, you will not find anything even vaguely Amish. You can learn more about what we believe here, and we invite you to watch a recent service online to get a flavor of who we are.
We meet at 8000 W 21st St N in west Wichita (on 21st street in between Ridge and Tyler. Right across the street from All Star Sports!)
Classic service: 8:15 a.m.
Contemporary services: 9:30 & 11:00 a.m.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT?
Our worship services last one hour. The services begin with some brief announcements followed by live music.
In our classic service, we are led by a few lead singers, a choir, organ, and piano.
In our contemporary services, we are led by a couple singers and a band including drums, guitars, and keyboards.
In all our services, lyrics to the songs are projected onto screens in case you'd like to sing along.
After the music, our lead pastor Brent shares a message from the Bible that is usually around 20 minutes.
WHAT ABOUT MY KIDS?
We love kids! We have excellent age-appropriate programs for birth - 8th grade on Sunday mornings (our high school students meet Sunday evenings). Because we value security, we have a detailed check-in process. It will take a couple minutes to setup the first time you visit.
We also have a nursery for birth - 3-year-olds. There you'll also find our Mother's Room and Dad Cave should you need to feed or soothe your younger ones. A live video stream of the service is always available in these rooms.
And in case you're wondering? All of our staff and volunteers have been trained and have passed detailed background checks.
WHAT TO WEAR & WHERE TO PARK
You'll find a pretty good mix of clothing here. You're welcome to wear whatever you feel comfortable in!
Feel free to grab the closest parking spot you can find! We have some close spots reserved for guests, but they often fill fast. We recommend entering the main entrances labeled "EAST ENTRANCE" and "WEST ENTRANCE."
