Student Mission Trip

UPDATE: Due to the worldwide COVID-19 virus we had to postpone our mission trip.  After hours of prayer and planning, we are happy to announce our new date of August 1-8, 2020!

Why go on this missions trip?  A mission trip is an incredible experience that opens eyes, soften hearts, and changes lives!  No ministry, experience, or lesson can compare to a short term mission trip in growing a student’s faith.   It not only expands a student’s faith but it unites a ministry and fuels the passion for the lost when the team gets back home.  Mission trips are a pillar of First MB Students and we desire every student to go on a mission trip before they graduate.  

COSTA RICA: (from Praying Pelicans) The beauty of Costa Rica will captivate and inspire you as you serve here on your mission trip this year. While partnering with local pastors and churches, your mission trip team will be able to make a difference in the lives of those they serve and experience a life change themselves. We have developed genuine partnerships with leaders in Costa Rica who are praying for groups like yours to come serve alongside them in their communities. When you come to Costa Rica with Praying Pelican Missions, you will be given the opportunity to lift up the pastors who are invested in their communities every day while sharing the love of Christ with those you meet in tangible ways. It doesn't matter if your group is made up of families, youth, college students, adults, or people of every age; your group will be able to serve in Costa Rica with ease. Our Praying Pelican Missions staff are well equipped to make sure the logistics for your missions trip in Costa Rica will be taken care of so you can focus completely on your mission trip and the dynamics of your group. As you minister in Costa Rica, your mission trip will be catered to meet the needs of the local community while utilizing your unique gifts. Who Can Participate? We have 36 spots going because that was the original team from spring break.  The team will be formed FIRST by the original members (they will need to register below).  And if there are spots are open due to fewer people coming then we will open it up for new people registering (prioritizing upperclassmen over underclassmen).  Register BELOW.

 

What is the estimated cost and what does it all include? TBA.  This will include all lodging, food, transportation, ministry site supplies, t-shirt, and even a fun day.  A final cost will be decided later.  

By applying, am I committing to the trip?  No, you are not committing by submitting your application. The application indicates your interest in being considered for the trip. After the application deadline, you will receive another email either confirming your place on the team or indicating we were unable to place you and why. 

 

What are the participant requirements?  

  • Must have a passion to grow their faith in Jesus
  • Must be a regular attending senior high student or adult sponsor
  • Personal health insurance
  • Completed online application (due by Nov. 4)
  • Attend all team meetings
  • Send out support letters (or pay 100% out of pocket)
  • Valid passport book (not card)
  • Share your testimony/story with the team
