In Wichita

We believe it's important to make a difference in the community where we live. Here are just a few options of ministries and organizations that we trust and regularly support. If you would like to help with any of these, contact Linda at to learn about next steps.

Downtown Breakfasts
Every Sunday morning, those who are homeless or struggling financially are able to enjoy a free breakfast in downtown Wichita. Several groups partner together to make this happen, and several times throughout the year we ask First MBers to help provide casseroles and serve at the event. Learn more

Lighthouse Community Church
We have a long history of working with our sister church located in the Oaklawn neighborhood of Wichita. They do a fantastic job ministering to lower-income families in their community, and there are many opportunities for us to partner with them. Learn more

Family Promise

Youth Horizons
This local organization pairs adults with at-risk youth in our community seeking to break the cycle of fatherlessness and poverty through mentoring. Learn more

Women's Prison Ministry
Being a pen pal or mentor to an inmate can have such an impact.

Community Kids
We often volunteer at Enders Elementary School here in Wichita and assist with several after school Bible clubs. A variety of volunteer opportunities are available!

Hope is Alive
Over the past six years Hope is Alive Ministries has supported and advocated for hundreds of families who have found themselves in this troubling and painful place. They work with families to define an action plan that bests suits their specific situation and be there to walk beside them as their loved one begins his or her road to recovery.
