What is YouthCon?

YouthCon is a once-every-four-years event for high school students from all across the nation.  This gathering is four days of connecting, worshiping, learning, and experiencing God in a whole new way.  [Set in the breathtaking high desert setting of Camp Eagle in Glorieta, NM.]  This event will be fun, challenging, relaxing, exhilarating, exhausting, and life-transforming.  Up until this year, it was called the National Youth Conference and has been happening since 1975. March 25 - Final Due Date (no longer taking any registrations) Everyone's total needs to be paid in full.  (must pay out of pocket to make up any difference)

How Can I Pay For This?

Don’t let the total deter you…. We plan on providing enough fundraising opportunities that cost may be free if your student participates!  You will be able to use your family’s fundraising account plus help pay for this trip.  (We also have a sibling discount of $20 each student)

How Will Travel Work?

We plan on renting two charter buses since the camp is an 8.5-hour drive (same as senior high camp).  We are meeting on Wednesday, April 3 at 7:00 a.m. at the church to load up (stopping for lunch on the way there).  We will then return around 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 7. (stopping for lunch and supper on the way back).

Will They Miss Any School?

Unfortunately, we couldn’t avoid this, so yes.  Since we will be joined by churches from all over the nation, not everyone’s spring break lined up.  The good news is there is no programming on Sunday so instead of arriving home really late after the convention (sacrificing Monday for many people) we will arrive early and have plenty of time to catch up on sleep or homework!

Can I Come Late or Leave Early?

This depends.  As of right now, we do not provide a way for you to travel to and from the camp without riding with the rest of the group.  See Pastor Kyle for more details.

What Does The Camp Provide?

This is truly an all-exclusive camp!  All camp meals will be provided.  Tons of fun options will be available so there won’t be a moment of boredom. Here are some things that they offer:

Fundraising:

Dillons Community Rewards

Earn funds by using your Dillon’s Plus Card!  Register at firstmbchurch.org/dillons then turn in your total every quarter.

How Will Fundraising Work?

The more fundraisers you work at the more money you make, it’s that simple.   We keep track of who has worked each fundraiser and the money will be divided up based on those who worked that particular fundraiser.

Bake Sales

Make goodies, then label and price them and bring them the 2nd Sunday of every month from 9:15 a.m.—12:00 p.m.

WORK WEEKEND

Sat., Oct. 27 & Sat., Nov. 3 | 8am—1pm

People will sign up online for the students to do work for them (painting, raking, babysitting, etc.).  Then they will donate towards the workers for their YouthCon trip.  (it gets split evenly for everyone who worked the weekend)

DINNER THEATER &
SILENT AUCTION

Feb. 1 & 2 | 6:30 p.m. | At First MB

Our biggest fundraiser!  We will have two evenings of a dinner theatre written, directed, and acted by our very own student ministry!  Plus we will have a silent auction with over a hundred different prizes to bid on!  (Last time we did this fundraiser we raised $16,900!)
